Video Game News and bits

Well the past few news updates have been a bit of a drag so let's switch things with some balls out awesome news.

First up, Serious Sam 3! Mindless shooting? Check. Mindless shooting while drunk and yelling at your friends in the house in a massive LAN party? Well hell yeah!

There's some new clip out there for Mass Effect 2 but I loathe the game so much that I'm not putting the clip link on here. And check out the description, hopefully it makes your stomach turn too:

"They describe a greater emphasis on combat, and a darker side of the Mass Effect universe."

Ooooo, a dark future themed game in space? My God we've never seen that .. at least in the past month in a game. Let me guess, there will be a plot twist. The only reason I don't want to sucker punch each person at Bioware is because they made Knights of the Old Republic and they're making an MMO for Knights as well.

Goodbye 3D Realms and Duke Nukem

As a shock to only the hardest of the hardcore believers in a sequel to Duke Nukem, 3D Realms has shutdown. Hell I've gone through college, had three jobs, and am about to get married in the time since Duke Nukem Forever was announced. Another site provides other things that have happened since Duke Nukem Forever was first announced. Here, however, is the most amazing:

"The two Mars rovers, Spirit and Opportunity were proposed, authorized, announced, designed, launched and successfully landed upon Mars where they have been exploring the surface for over 2.5 years."

NASA sent not one but two probes to goddamn Mars in that same time period. If NASA is beating your timetables you got some serious damn issues.

Goodbye Duke we had some fun 14 years ago but it is over now and has been for a long damn time.
