Laser pointers will now be classified as weapons of mass destruction. You know what's going on, I'm pretty sure I do. A few weeks ago someone comes up with a scenario about using lasers to bring down aircraft by blinding the pilots so now kids or actual terrorists might be trying that same thing. How stupid.
Great link here for speeding up browsing under Firefox by opening multiple links to the same site at once. I'm a big fan of Firefox personally so I really enjoy this one. Particularly useful in chat forums full of avatars.
Honestly, these kids on 1UP who are shown old classic arcade games make me so mad because they're so right. We were stupid back 15-20 years ago when a single dot on the screen or a yellow pie shaped orb could entertain us for hours.

I did have an update then my machine crapped out on me. So instead of re-writing everything I'll point to this article on Techspot regarding some new technology on their cards that will allow the Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) to talk right to system memory. So, dump more RAM into your machine. Also, it will allow you to hook right into two cards without some obnoxious SLI cable which should have died back with the Monster II card.
Some enterprising people cracked the code for their broadband modems once again showing just how low some dorks will go to get more porn. Come on guys, go on a real date. Virtual sex does not count.

While I do so love this Pentax OptioMX camera, the software that came with it is totally bogus and the fact that the software continually attempts to tell me that my operating system is not correct shows that this thing needed to be tested more on the PC. I'm running Win2K you dumbasses and my motherboard supports USB 2.0, how much newer do you need? Any rate, good swag.
Dorkdom's new haven.
And would you people that just got PCs get off the Internet! You're killing the pings and connections since you obviously haven't patched your systems and they're all infected right out of the box. Bluesnews and Portal of Evil News appear to be having problems.

Why is everyone so damn mad at EA in regards to the NFL deal? If anything shouldn't we, the consumers be pissed at the NFL? After all, they were the ones who first put the offer out there to the market and EA, like any smart business, tried to get an exclusive deal for the most popular, most lucrative franchise in their inventory and they had to pay through the nose for the rights.
Plus I don't think this is the end of anything. After all, before Madden there was Tecmo Bowl.
I picked up Everquest 2 in the hopes that a buddy and I can play online some of this since he loves it so much. You know you're a geek when you are playing games to ensure you and your buddies keep in touch. The first month came with the price of the game so let's see how this goes. It sure looks good that's for sure.

Since this is a Doom 3 tidbit of news, gather around the dimly lit campfire. From what has been said online, the expansion for Doom 3 will support mutiplayer cooperative play. We can only hope this bit of news turns out to be true.
Big time hole in Windows XP SP2 and its firewall. Read here then go patch up your systems.

Now I do like some free games. And today Anarchy Online can now be downloaded for free. The catch being that there are three expansions to this MMO and if you want to own those you must pay for it. An interesting ploy and I for one will give it a whirl.

Finally, some Half-Life 2 reviewing.

Dear Best Buy: While I greatly enjoy your selection of software and I know others gripe about your policies on returns and other issues, I have never had a problem. However, trying to charge over $30 for a simple USB cable? Please don't insult my intelligence like that ever again. I don't care if it was plated in platinum and I got a free lap dance from Destiny's Child, $30 is ridiculous for a simple USB cable that I picked up at Frye's for $15. In fact, this USB cable I picked up has LEDs in both ends which gives it that eerie blue glow.
Local company in the news? Woot!
More drivers for ATi software and this one appears to mostly address issues between the x800 and Windows XP.
Ok folks on Christmas you have to open your presents SLOWLY lest you be too surprised.

Call of Cthulu interview here. I'm hoping this lives up to the advanced word. The possibility of giving the appearance of the player losing their sanity while progressing sounds especially novel.
Microsoft helping with the crackdown of fraudulent degrees? Obvious choice given how MCSEs are so well regarded in the business world? Sarcasm, where? Wait, I have one of these things too!! Damn... Carry on.

63 years ago some idiots decided they wanted to mess with the United States. Back then things weren't as politically correct as it is now and there isn't 24 hour news service to tick off every casualty. So the US did what any country would do to protect itself and delivered a huge fission powered donkey punch to the enemy. But then, that war made sense whereas Iraq is pretty stupid (thanks Rumsfeld you douche).
Also, because of WWII two things were given to us: the first computers and later on putting Nazis in computer games to be shot, bludgeoned, and skewered with flame throwers. Thank you Castle Wolfenstein!
A soundtrack for San Andreas? One more reason to use Limewire.
The Matrix was a simulation of another script and the original writer won her suit against Warner Brothers. Despite winning, the plantiff took a stab at the news media and brings up a good point:
"The reason you have not seen any of this in the media is because Warner Brothers parent company is AOL-Time Warner... this GIANT owns 95 percent of the media... let me give you a clue as to what they own in the media business... New York Times papers/magazines, LA Times papers/magazines, People Magazine, CNN news, Extra, Celebrity Justice, Entertainment Tonight, HBO, New Line Cinema, Dreamworks, Newsweek, Village Roadshow... many, many more!... They are not going to report on themselves. They have been surpressing my case for years..."
Star Wars ringtones? Imperial Death March will ring as I call all my friends.
Microsoft has put out the first service pack for Windows 2003. I love this argument:
"The company argues that the improvements are important enough that applications should be changed to accommodate them."
Argue all you want, that wall won't answer.
Microseries cartoons of Clone Wars cartoon to DVD next year in March of 2005. Yes!!

Infinium and fraud in the same sentence is something I completely expect. So this article doesn't surprise me. But to humor myself I imagine the investment bankers as some starchy early 20th century industrialists replete with top hats and handlebar mustaches. "I say ol' chap did you hear about Infinium? Dare I say I think they are going to rip us off and trick the general public." "Us Mr. Hagglesword? Perish the thought! Why if that were to happen I'd eat my monacle right here." "Oh don't bother Mr. Butterfield, we'll have one of the Irish wage laborers eat it for you. It will be their first good meal this week." <mutual laughter> "Good one ol' boy. Here let's have a port of brandy and go to the opium den."

It's pretty known that HL2 has a deathmatch mode now. However it's laggy as hell from what I understand and of course you have to get it through that craptacular Steam engine thing. Which by the way, Valve just yesterday won a big case against Vivendi to have Vivendi keep it's grubby hands off of the engine and out of cybercafes.
CEO of Atari stepped down once he realized, "Hey, this company hasn't made a good game since Pitfall back in 1982!" Also he realized his company approved the development of Terminator 3: War of the Machines. Why he didn't commit suicide after that remains to be determined. Rumor has it the CEO is actually the undead and can't kill himself.
Painkiller: Battle Out of Hell hit the store shelves today. Twitch fest first person shooter aficionados rejoice! Others, we shall call these others asshats, don't know what they're missing.
