Where have I been? Neck deep in CCNA certifications but you all don't care and I don't blame you. It's a whole lot of crap and my mind hurts from it all.
China is going to spend $1.8 Billion to develop online games, probably for propaganda or perhaps they will make a real world simulation. Work in a sweat shop, join the military, or dash your unwanted baby against the rocks of the Yalu River. Extra points and skills if they land on their still unformed head.
People still play Diablo 2 enough to warrant another patch? Guys, really, I mean I have it on my hard drive too still but there games have progressed beyond 800x600 graphics. Honest, come on out and have a look at Warcraft III or maybe even some Battlefield 2.
Speaking of Battlefield 2, the review is rolling around in my mind on how to describe in words what occurs in that game. Hopefully that will be up soon.

More information on the Giga-byte systems i-RAM technology. Solid state storage. I don't think I've ever lusted after a piece of technology but this might break that streak. It even uses Serial ATA! Best of all:
"As long as your power supply is still plugged in and turned on, regardless of whether or not your system is running, shut down or in standby mode, the i-RAM will still be powered by the 3.3V line feeding it from the PCI slot."
But would the price be worth it for only possibly a five to six second load up performance enhancement in games like Doom 3 and Battlefield 2? Probably not but damn if this shit isn't cool!

Read this article and if you agree with ANY part of this you need to cut up your credit cards and go take a finance class.
Bluesnews has the article title right: Nokia is in denial about the NGage.
Google Earth. Download it right now!
The original Diablo in about 50 minutes.

Oh man, those screenshots from the hot coffee mod are WEAK! So so weak. I think Leisure Suit Larry had better graphics than that. Yeesh. People are getting upset over THAT?! This again reminds me how one time I was watching Die Hard on network TV and they were barely cutting the violence down. Thousands of bullets, bad guys dying left and right in various bloody ways. But the moment someone said "God Damn" the "God" was edited out of the dialogue. Great logic.

You can fight in a war, you can drive a car, but if you so much as DARE look at a boobie you'll be hurt bad! Do some of these people even realize what kids can get access to these days?
Serious Sam 2 approaches and there appear to be more screenshots in this article.

To describe the short movie "A Few Good G-Men" as entertaining is an understatement. Take the Half-Life 2 engine, then take "A Few Good Men" and put the movie into the Half-Life 2 engine to remake that great courtroom scene. You WANT me on that pixelated wall, you NEED me on that pixelated wall.
To say the combination of EA's quality control (BF2 server leak) and Valve's Steam distribution system is a pile of shit wrapped in the plague is putting it mildly. What the hell is Valve thinking?
Mark the days of either September 27th or October 14th as days to avoid the computer store? Why? Because Black and White 2 will be on the shelves. I wish to avoid whoever is stpuid enough to fall for this shit again. B&W is of course the second worse game I've ever played (Iron Storm being the winner) and I've played a lot of crappy games. Cripes they can't even get the day correct.
The Doom movie might not suck? And if this story is correct then they might have a point. The major points of non-suckiness are:
All of these are pluses. What needs to be addressed: How much gore are we talking about? Double barrel shotgun? The movie requires these things.

Everquest 2 review up for your reading enjoyment. Or to hate and claw your eyes out against. Whatever.
A pirate MMORPG? On the one hand it's good because it's PIRATES! But it's an MMORPG.

The official Star Trek MMO site is online. Even though I'm a Star Trek fan in a big way, after six months in EQ2 I think I'll have to pass on this one.
New Firefox out today.
We've always been at war with Oceania and therefore the Patriot Act must be made permaneant.

ATI target for takeover? Courtiers include AMD and T.I. TI I could possibly see but again AMD needs to STAY FOCUSED ON CPUs dammit!
Some guy cleared the Great Wall of China on a skateboard. While that's interesting what I found more interesting was the following piece of information:
"A crowd of several thousand people, including China's ministers of extreme sports and culture, gathered at the Ju Yong Guan Gate..."
What's Chinese for "thrashing?"
San Andreas had some naughty bits in the game that now have people in an uproar. Gangsters shooting one another but a little bit of sex? Oh no, the end of America!

A server patch should not cause memory leaks on a server. Stupid EA and Dice. Who wants to go play some Enemy Territory instead?!
AMD to lower prices again.

Yes kids, now even you can get an exclusive deal with a major game software developer. The cost? A mere $8 million or so. Waht bugs me about this article? The very first sentence:
IT WAS A HARD task to get to the bottom of the mystery of ATI's Half Life 2 voucher deal. It took us a lot of time and energy.
Awww, was your web writing difficult? Poor baby.

There's been a Google search bar for Firefox for years so I guess I don't get very excited about the fact that Google will be making a toolbar specific to Firefox. In fact, with a few plugins you have all the pieces for Firefox that make the Google toolbar viable.
A friend sent a link in regards to the iRAM.
The iRam holds up to 8G bytes of DRAM in
four memory slots. The card fits into a standard PCI
slot and uses a SATA (150MB/sec) connection for data
transfer.
Unlike DRAM-based main memory, the iRam card doesn't lose data when the PC is
switched off. As long as the PC is plugged into a socket, a very small amount
of current continues to run through some parts of the system, including the PCI
slots. This provides enough power to make sure that no data is lost.
It's a un unnecessary upgrade but it's $60 for the card and RAM is cheap and it's so so tempting.

Microsoft discusses purchasing adware company Claria and what do you know, their spyware scanning software now asks you to ignore Claria's garbage. Conflict of interest? Surely you jest! Get Ad-Aware folks.
Serious Sam 2 will be out soon and of course that's a great thing to know. However, what bothers me is the price point for the game. Apparently, the price point is going to be $50 with the logic being the game is nearly twice as large as the previous iterations. However, my concern is that Serious Sam 2 is only good for one thing: co-operative and so buying a game just to play once or twice when my buddies can get together doesn't seem very logical.
Someone asked me for a Battlefield 2 review. Sorry, still playing. No one has asked for an Everquest 2 review now that I'm done playing it though. Yup, going cold turkey on it folks. Wish me luck.
Feel like geeking out a bit? Sure ya do, go watch this video of two folks building the Lego Star Wars Destroyer. Took them 10 hours but the video is about three minutes.

Having problems with Voice Over IP in Battlefield 2? I know I am and I found this article.
