I'm going to give up Everquest 2 for a while. After hitting level 60 I am just plum worn out on the game for a while.  You'd think that would be motivation to hit 70 but that game becomes work more than regular work is work at these higher levels. 

The Godfather game isn't what I'd call a terrific game but it's not a terrible game either. First it has the whole mafioso vibe going for it allowing you to be a pimp, gun runner, bank robber, cop killer, and all of the other wacky antics that involved the Corleone family.   This game uses the Grand Theft Auto thematic to put you in the world of the Puzo novels allowing for free roaming or mission based objectives. It's pretty violent at some points of course (this is the mafia, not a Hello Kitty party game) but I've seen worse in games.  The biggest problem pertains to the fact that the game obvious roots in the console world mean that the textures and world are not as rich and fluid as you might expect from a PC game which is too bad because with some more texture detail and a more varied environment this game could really suck a person into it.  As it stands now, though, the graphics are on par with a game like Soldier of Fortune 2 which isn't bad, if this were 2001. 

The Quake 4 patch hit the ether today.  Looks like a couple of new maps and some fixes for the multiplayer.  

The third generation modern consoles are barely on the shelves right now (only the Xbox 360) but Unreal has already begun discussing the fourth generation of their Unreal engine.

Ah, it's like 2002. Or was it 2000? Or was it 1999 when we first heard these words:

"... and of course as soon as Duke is done..."

Oh you silly 3dRealms folks, you tell each generation that learns to read the same thing. Fortunately previous generations still live to tell the truth to your tales. 

Battlefield 2142 will NOT be played at the Sanitarium. Sure, we really like BF2 of course but with Quake Wars coming out (hopefully by end of year) we'll just save your pennies.

The shame continues as I hit level 60 in EverQuest 2.  That was, until the Kingdom of Sky expansion, as high as you could get in terms of levels.

Slashdot has posted some fluff piece about how Vista might break the spyware business. Hey guys, remember how Windows XP and 2000 were supposed to be more secure.  Yeah, that was a good joke then, too.

Now wait a second here.  Didn't D&D Online come out just a few weeks ago and now there's already an add-on expansion?

AMD shares fell because of a pending price war looming on the horizon.  Traders and analyst get nervous, we as computer users should salivate.  

That's all besides the point, the Godfather game went gold.

There exists a Simpson's episode where Homer is looking at a car but the mafia also wishes him dead. While looking at the car I believe the mafia shoots at him and misses but hits the car.  Homer naturally asks the salesman, "What are those holes?"  Not missing a beat the salesman cooly responds, "They're speed holes. They make the car go faster."

What's the point?  Someone wants to make a lag reducing hardware card for your PC.  Maybe they should team up with Infinium on the Phantom.

Leave it to Penn & Teller to come up with this game.  I think we could call that the precursor grinding levels in EQ2.
